Milito Confirms Leave Of Inter Milan

Inter Milan striker Diego Milito has officially confirmed that he will leave the Italian outfit at the end of the season. The announcement has been expected for some time given that he was out of contract in the next few weeks. Both the club and the player have not been looking towards extending the contract. The 34 years of age, it has been heavily rumoured that Milito will be looking to return to the Argentine football. He has spent the best part of last decade in European football playing for the likes of Genoa and Inter Milan.

He enjoyed immense success in his first season with the Italian outfit after winning the Champions League in 2010. Since then, the club has been on a downhill and it is rumoured that they will be looking to rebuild the team by sending out some of the older players like Milito and Walter Samuel, who were part of that legendary squad. The 34-year-old striker took to his Facebook page in order to make the announcement. He said that this is a goodbye to all the Inter fans.

The club defender Walter Samuel revealed a few weeks ago that Milito has been asking him to join Racing club of Argentina. It is widely expected to be the next destination of Milito.

“The time has come to say goodbye. Unfortunately my time at Inter has come to an end. I’ve decided to try a new adventure in my professional career. I still do not know what the future holds, but I still feel ‘alive’ and I have a strong desire to play again and to go back to being a protagonist. I want to thank the people with whom, in my recent years at Inter, I have shared the joy and incredible successes with: the club, [former] president [Massimo] Moratti,” said the Argentine.
